The THW Kiel is a sports club from Kiel. It originates from the originally independent municipality of Hassee and its district of Winterbek. The club was founded on February 4, 1904. The club is best known for its handball department, whose Bundesliga match operations were spun off on July 1, 1992 into THW Kiel Handball-Bundesliga GmbH & Co. KG on July 1, 1992. THW Kiel plays in the German Handball Bundesliga and is one of the most successful handball teams in the world.

The Kieler Sportvereinigung Holstein von 1900 e. V. is a traditional club that is primarily dedicated to soccer alongside other sports. Thanks to its eventful history of more than 120 years, with the historic Holstein Stadium in the heart of Kiel, the club is firmly anchored in its social, geographical and natural environment in the Schleswig-Holstein region.

The club colors are blue, white and red. KSV Holstein has around 11,000 members (as of Q1 2025). The club was founded on October 7, 1900 and its greatest success is the German championship in 1912.

The Duale Hochschule Schleswig-Holstein (DHSH) is a state-recognized university of applied sciences sponsored by the Wirtschaftsakademie Schleswig-Holstein.
